Submitting the Live Oak Common Scholarship application

automatically makes you a candidate for many local scholarships

(without the need to apply for each individually).

See below for a list of scholarship opportunities.

Who May Apply?

 

Any senior with a 2.0 GPA or higher who intends to pursue further education at a vocational / technical school or at a two-year or four-year institution is eligible to apply for the scholarships offered by local schools, organizations, businesses, and families.

 

What Must I Submit?

 

·        Completed Live Oak Common Scholarship Application Form (3 pages) with photo

o       Live Oak Common Scholarship Application Form

·        A resume is not required, but is highly recommended.  See Sample Resume.

·        One Letter of Recommendation from a Live Oak High School Faculty member and / or from a community service organization (may not be a relative).  Be sure to give them at least two weeks to complete this letter and provide them in advance with relevant information about yourself.  See Recommendation Request.

·        1-2 page Personal Statement

 

What Should I Include In my Personal Statement?

·        A theme should be: What makes you unique as an individual? 

·        Highlight leadership and/or service to your school and community.

·        Mention accomplishments and special interests that will enhance your contributions to a college campus

·        Consider Including hardships / obstacles either personal or financial,  If relevant, describe unique family circumstances

·        Include aspirations (career and personal), tentative major, educational and career goals.

 

When is it Due? 

 

Turn in to the Counseling / Career Center by December 5th of your Senior year.
