Swimming Meeting – This Wednesday, January 7th, 6:30 pm in Mack Haines classroom.  Mandatory for parents. 

 

Band Boosters Meeting – This Wednesday, January 7th, 7:30 pm in Room 603.

 

Grad Night 2009 Committee Meeting – This Wednesday, January 7th, 7:00 pm in the Library.  Come find out how the graduates can get their Grad Night ticket for FREE!!  Decorating planning will also be discussed.

 

Ag Boosters Meeting – NEXT Wednesday, January 14th, 6:30 pm in Room 551.  (NOTE this is a change from the previously scheduled January 7th meeting.)

 

Live Oak Drama Guild Comedy:  The Dining Room – This Friday and Saturday, January 9th and 10th AND next Friday and Saturday, January 16th and 17th.  At El Toro Elementary school at 7 pm.  Tickets are $7 with ASB; $12 without, and can be purchased at the door.

 

Teen Fashion Show – Sponsored by the Morgan Hill Youth Advisory Committee – This Friday, January 9th,  7 pm at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center.  Tickets are available at the door or from YAC members, and they are $10 for students and seniors or $12 for adults.  See flyer for more information.

 

Strong Interest Inventory – This Saturday, January 10th, 9 am in the Counseling and Career Center.  Sign up now in the counseling office to take part in this assessment.  Learn more about your true career interests For Juniors and Seniors.  This program is being brought to Live Oak and the cost per student is $40.

 

Financial Aid Presentations for Seniors – Next Tuesday, January 13th (during civics) or Friday, January 16th (during economics).  Click on PowerPoint presentation to preview or review the material. 

 

Parenting for Success in School and Life – Next Monday, January 12th 6:30-8:30 pm in the Sobrato High School Performing Arts Theater.  Presented by Susan Winebrenner, author of Teaching Gifted Kids in the Regular Classroom and Teaching Kids with Learning Difficulties in the Regular Classroom.   All parents are invited.  (No students, please.)

 

Planning for Future Classes – As you look ahead to the next semester and the following school year, note that there are many resources available on the LO website that can help you.  These include, but are not limited to:

  • Graduation Requirements
  • Course Outlines – descriptions of all classes in all departments at LO, including how they meet both LO graduation requirements and UC entrance requirements.
  • 4 Year Plan – month-by-month, year-by-year suggestions for classes and extra-curricular activities to consider, whit links to additional information.
  • Testing – schedules and requirements.   Mapping out a testing schedule is particularly important for Juniors planning to attend, for example, a UC.
